Cycle Ride for Life - In Memory of Tracy Crawford

Sustained Support for Hospitals

Over the last 2 years, through our Coast to Coast Bike Rides and other key events the McKenzie, and Crawford families supported by friends, colleagues and a huge number of private sponsors have raised a massive £57,000 for Leukaemia Research – all in memory of Tracy Crawford. A significant sum went to Sunderland Royal Ward E55 who provided such dedicated care, enabling them to buy vital equipment and resources.

Niall Quinn accepts £25,500 on behalf of the hospital ,from some of the chlidren of the intrepid Coast to Coast Bikers.

The TotalCare Connect bed is the aim of the 50 Bikers in 2008. They cost of a full technology bed is around £20,000.

 Comments from Sunderland Royal

“Sustained support like this and the astonishing sums raised helps the trust enormously - both in monetary terms but also as a thank-you to our staff for their dedication and in developing services for local people. Those concerned are well known at Sunderland Royal in both ICCU and on E55 and being associated with them has been both a pleasure and an inspiration to others. All the very best to the McKenzie family and all their helpers. We will be there with you in spirit on the ride - good luck and good cycling. Look forward to seeing you on your return”.
